Research Interests: My lab strives to contribute to and exploit a deeper understanding of vascular biology related to human disease and develop innovative nanomedicine-based therapeutic strategies to treat cardiovascular complications. We have contributed significantly to the molecular understanding of endothelial homeostasis governed by blood flow, with emphasis on the regulation of non-coding RNAs, the non-coding genome, epitranscriptome, transcription factors, ion channels, cellular metabolism, and genetic variants. Moreover, we have engineered a cohort of innovative nanocarriers that preferentially target dysregulated vascular cells and deliver a wide range of therapeutic nucleotides for the development of precision nanomedicine strategies treating vascular complications.
