Josephine Adams, PhD

Dr. Adams is a biochemist and cell biologist who built her career in both the UK and the US (Harvard and Cleveland Clinic). Her areas of research involve the extracellular matrix, its organization, and functional roles in regulating cell behavior, with emphasis on cancer cell adhesion, motility and metastasis, and tissue fibrosis. Dr. Adams served as the Chief Editor of the American Journal of Physiology - Cell Physiology and is currently the Chief Editor of Physiological Reports.

I was privileged to have served as an Associate Editor, and Editorial Board member, under Dr. Adams. She is knowledgeable, diplomatic, supportive, and fair! A role model for female scientists!
